We use different types of material to build our houses but in the door selection, the most appropriate material is wood because wood work enhances the beauty of any house and it is easy to work on wood than any other material. Doors give us secure feelings. We use different types of locks to secure our houses and valuables available in the houses and rooms and even in cupboard sometimes. Spraying the lock with WD-40

If your lock is gone rustic then use WD-40. It is especially designed for locks and moving parts of metal on or within each other such as bicycle chains and door hinges etc. It is a very common house hold lubricating oil and effective one also. Its formula is designed to remove rust and not catchy for dust particles like other synthetic materials. Spray one or two drops into the keyhole of any lock then enter the key and give it four or five twists to remove rust from working components. You will feel the difference.

If you avoid the stickiness of any lubricant then use dry form of graphite to give locks new life without any disturbances and rust. It is available in all hardware stores. If your locks go sticky due to dust and rust then use a single puff of this material into the keyhole. It removes dust particles and rusts from the working components of locks without make them greasy and oily. Insert key into the hole and operate your lock slowly after some time you can get an easy access to lock and unlock your door.

Precautions in handling this product

Powdered graphite is a material that can be applied on metallic parts of anything but keep in mind that this is not friendly for your skin so keep it away from the direct interaction with your skin. Keep gloves on or eye mask if it is necessary to use it. It is not available in a powder form but it is a liquefied form of graphite. Its stains are very tough and can create mess for you. So use it carefully or remove immediately with a wet sponge if drops on any other material like wood, cloth and carpet.

If you are locked inside your house and can’t go out due to sticky lock then use household thing s to come out of this problem. If you haven’t WD-40 of Liquefied Graphite at home then use Olive oil to open a sticky lock.  Take your key in your hand pour one or two drop of Olive oil on it and spread it on the both faces of the key then insert key into key hole and twist them clockwise and anti-clockwise gently. Then repeat the whole process when each and every part would be well lubricated by Olive Oil then it works for you.

Add some drinking water if you have nothing

If you are shut in your room and door is gone rusty then the immediate solution of the problem is drinking water. Pour one or two drops of water on the grooves of the key and enter into the key hole. The mechanism would become wet and small particles of dust would be removed automatically. Rust can also be removed for a while with water but it is not the ideal way to sort out things. Rust will appear again due to the dampness of water and the situation goes sever than before. If you applied water then after coming out from the critical situation add some lubrication or wash door lock with Graphite to avoid any severe in-convenience in future.

Look after them properly

After harsh weather, look after the locks properly. After rainy seasons lubricate them properly and wash them after dry summer season to remove dust particles from them.
